About The Owners

Karalisa and Lamar Sellers met 10 years ago while pursuing their plates at The Flying Saucer in Austin (drinking 200 different beers earns a plate on the wall).  They both earned their plates, later married, and moved to Houston for work.  Despite having “real jobs” that they both enjoyed, they dreamed of getting back to central Texas and creating a business together.

They made that dream a reality in January 2017 when they purchased land nearly Wimberley and began the construction process for what is now The Shady Llama, which opened in March 2018.  Karalisa and Lamar are now full-time bartenders, sunset connoisseurs, and proud parents to a spunky 2-year-old daughter.
